101 Clinics

The Santa Fe Pickleball Club offers free introductory “Pickleball 101” clinics, typically on one or two Saturdays per month at the Fort Marcy Courts. Check the calendar to see when the next available clinic is happening. They often fill up fast, so don’t sleep on getting your pickleball groove underway.

What can you expect when joining a Pickleball 101 clinic?

Orientation to the sport and the opportunities in the region–we’ll introduce you to the Santa Fe Pickleball Club, as well as other clubs and we’ll go over the places in Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico where you can flaunt your newfound skills.

You’ll get a rundown on court etiquette and gain the confidence to show up for open play hours, here in Santa Fe or anywhere else you might find yourself.

Basics, such as grip and swing, footwork and positioning will be addressed along with the key rules.

You’ll do a series of drills with your cohort to help ingrain these basics and learn some of the key dynamics that are important in every game.

There will be plenty of time to ask questions, seek clarification, and plan your next outing on the courts.

What should you bring to a 101 clinic?

You should plan to bring tennis-style court shoes, ie, a sneaker that holds your foot well and doesn’t mark up the courts. Wear shorts, sweat pants or athletic wear that allows for good freedom of movement. Bring a hat with good sun protection along with plenty of sunscreen and plenty of water! Eye protection is also a great idea, whether sunglasses or clear protective glasses–pickleballs are hard!

You’re welcome to bring a pickleball paddle if you have one, but the club will provide paddles for everyone participating in a clinic.

We’ll see you out there!
